Dr. Deanna Plante Voisine, Ph.D.

Dr. Plante Voisine is the Founder and Director of APS of RI.  She is a Licensed Psychologist who earned her doctoral degree from the University of Rhode Island.  She also attended Fairfield University in Connecticut, Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina, and Elmira College in New York.

Dr. Plante Voisine completed her internship in both a neuropsychological private practice and in the juvenile justice system.  She served for five years as a member of the Board of Directors for the Rhode Island Psychological Association, and she was the Chair of the Early Career Psychologists and Communications committees.

Dr. Plante Voisine has several years of experience as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP), and has worked with children from preschool to college age.  She was the Director of Social Work at a chronic and convalescent hospital, worked in federal prison settings providing psychoeducational groups and therapeutic services, taught at a program for children with autism, and she has worked in private practice settings for several years.  She has served as an adjunct professor at the Community College of Rhode Island and at the University of Rhode Island.  Dr. Plante Voisine specializes in animal-assisted therapy and consultative services, as well as in behavioral and educational assessments and interventions.  She provides comprehensive clinical evaluations, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and consultation services for children and adults.  Her emphasis is always on having an empathetic and effective approach for all of her patients.

Dr. Plante Voisine participated in extensive training with Dr. Brian Weiss and earned a certification in Past Life Regression therapy.  When not working, Dr Voisine may be at the dojo (she earned her second degree black belt in Okinawan karate after her children earned theirs), watching her kids at one of their sporting events, surfing with them, or hiking with their dogs.  She is a devoted wife, mom, and a lover of animals and the Earth.

Carrie Raimondo, M.S. LPCA, NCC

Carrie Raimondo is native to New England growing up in both Maine and Massachusetts who attended the University of Southern Maine before meeting her husband who was in the navy, completing her BS in Psychology at Capella University and continuing with her MS in Mental Health Counseling with Capella, completing both residencies in Dallas, TX. Carrie works from a Strengths Based Model of therapy which allows to work at the pace of the client and accentuate their strengths instead of placing the concentration on deficits; she also utilizes Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) techniques which are collaborative, and goal directed. SFT’s aim is to help people find within themselves and use tools to help alleviate symptoms and cope with challenges they may be facing; SFT plays on the strengths that sometimes people need a little help recognizing that they already possess and the counselor acts as a guide through the process. Carrie also has experience working with a non-profit providing transition services for adolescents in high school with autism spectrum disorders, acquired brain injuries, intellectual or emotional disabilities, mental illnesses, and other challenges which complicate traditional educational settings which has provided experience beneficial when working with adolescents.

Dr. Genevieve Verdi, Ph.D.

Dr Genevieve Verdi earned her doctoral degree from the University of Rhode Island.  During her schooling, she earned the MHS Keith Conners JAD Award for Scholarly Excellence in ADHD Research in 2009 and the Dr Janet M Kulberg Fellowship for Scientist Practitioners in 2012. She has worked in a private practice setting with a specialization in ADHD, and in addition to offering therapy services at APS, she is also the Department Chair of the Psychological program at CCRI. Outside of work, she is a devoted mom to her son and daughter.

Jordann Plante, M.A. CAGS, NCSP

Jordann, a Westerly, Rhode Island native, is a full-time Nationally Certified School Psychologist. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, with a focus on child development, from the University of Rhode Island. She continued her education, earning her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling and a C.A.G.S. in School Psychology at Rhode Island College. Jordann has worked at APS conducting cognitive assessments and supporting children, teens and adults through a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach. She has experience working with children in the community as a Home-Based Therapeutic Services (HBTS) worker through the Fogarty Center.

Paige Vogel, M.A., C.A.G.S, NCSP

Paige is a full-time practicing School Psychologist who is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and adults feel supported and understood. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island, graduating summa cum laude, and went on to complete her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling and a C.A.G.S. in School Psychology at Rhode Island College. Paige has worked in schools as well as in community settings, including serving as a project manager at Perspectives, a program supporting individuals on the autism spectrum, and as a domestic violence advocate at the Elizabeth Buffam Chase Center located in the Kent County Courthouse. At APS, Paige brings a compassionate and collaborative approach to counseling and also offers cognitive and memory assessments as part of the evaluation process.

Joe Gencarelli, M.S.

Joe Gencarella has been working the field of education for 24 years, with the last 13 years as a school principal.  His full time position is currently as the principal of a Middle School, where is has created a positive and interactive environment for staff and students.  He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island, a Master’s degree from the University of New Haven, and then a certificate in educational leadership from Sacred Heart University.  While he has extensive experience working with children, he is providing counseling services to children and adults at APS, alongside his therapy dog, Hope.

     

Olivia Wilson

Olivia grew up in the Rhode Island/Connecticut area and graduated from Rhode Island College with her Bachelors in Psychology in 2023. She is now working towards her Masters in Mental Health Counseling and CAGS in School Psychology. Olivia has worked in the school system, as well as a private music studio teaching children how to have fun with music and as a swim instructor. At APS she administers cognitive and memory assessments as part of our evaluation process. Outside of school and work, she loves to spend time with her family, read and practice yoga.

Lia Rajabiun

Lia Rajabiun is a Couple and Family Therapy Master’s student at the University of Rhode Island. With a background in Psychology and Human Development & Family Sciences, she is passionate about supporting individuals, couples, and families as they work toward growth and connection. Lia first began working with clients during her internship at APS and has continued building her experience ever since, always striving to create a safe, supportive space where people can feel understood and empowered. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach and spending time with her dog.

Belle Wilson

Belle is a graduate student who interned at APS for years prior to pursuing her Master’s degree.  She provides a compassionate therapy approach to those that she works with, and she has assisted with the administration of evaluation measures at APS.
